New section on the blog “Product spotlight”

Curiosity has always been part of who I am. I love discovering new cultures, new flavors, and new experiences.

Last year, in 2025, traveling was not possible for me.
Yet the desire to discover did not disappear. If anything, it grew stronger.
So I asked myself a simple question- If I cannot explore the world right now, how can I bring that sense of discovery closer to home?

That is when a new idea was born. I began choosing new products from the grocery store on purpose. Something sweet, something salty, sometimes something completely unexpected. Instead of shopping on autopilot, I started walking through the store with open eyes and genuine curiosity.

And I quickly realized something surprising that there are far more interesting products around us than we usually notice.

Whenever I found something exciting, I naturally shared it with the people close to me. After a while, I noticed I had already collected quite a few photos. Sharingsomeon the blog feltmanyext logical step.

Over time, I began to look at non-edible products with the same level of attention. When I’m considering buying something new, I always want to know what others think first- What works? What doesn’t?
Honest opinions help us make better choices.
And then I thought, why not bring non-edible products under this same category.

One thing you should know about me is that I pay close attention to details. Thoroughness is simply part of my nature, and you will see that reflected in my descriptions.
Not every product I share will be a personal favorite. Sometimes I try something that is well-made and not objectively bad, yet it simply does not suit my taste. For example, within the same product line, one flavor might impress me while another leaves me indifferent. I still choose to share these experiences. Honest reviews include both appreciation and personal preference. My goal is not to declare something good or bad, but to describe how it felt and tasted to me, so you can decide what might work for you.

Quality or quantity?

For a long time, I assumed I was easygoing when it came to buying things. The past months have made something clear. I am selective, and that selectiveness is intentional.

Choosing quality is not about perfectionism. It is about discernment. I would rather invest in one excellent product than accumulate several mediocre ones that add little real value.

Over time, I have come to see quality as a form of self respect. What we allow into our daily lives quietly shapes our standards, our environment, and ultimately our experience. This mindset guides every purchase I make.

What do I look for when buying?

I usually step into a store with curiosity rather than habit.
New products often appear quietly and disappear just as quickly. That sense of impermanence makes discovery more interesting.

It might be something sweet or salty, a new seasoning, or an intriguing drink. If it captures my attention and the ingredients align with my standards, it earns a place in my basket.

Promotional areas are often overlooked, yet they hide some of the most interesting finds. Certain products are available only for a short period because they are part of test launches, limited batches, or special collaborations.
If the demand is not strong enough, they quietly disappear. Others are simply produced in smaller quantities from the beginning. That is why some items vanish before most people even realize they were there.

Seasonal collections are another space worth observing- Easter, Valentine’s Day, and Christmas frequently bring limited selections created specifically for that moment. These products are designed to match the mood of the season rather than become permanent items. Once they sell out, they are usually not restocked, which makes discovering them feel even more special.

Ingredients

Over time, my body has become far more sensitive to food, largely due to prolonged stress. I notice the difference immediately. Certain products simply do not sit well with me anymore.

In practice, this means I pay close attention to ingredient lists. I avoid products built around heavily refined vegetable oils such as palm oil and its derivatives, long chains of synthetic emulsifiers, fully hydrogenated fats, artificial stabilizers, and chocolate substitutes that contain more additives than actual cocoa.

My rule is simple. If I need a search engine to understand what I am about to eat, I would rather leave it on the shelf. The goal is not fear or perfectionism. It is clarity.

I am not extreme about it. If most of the ingredients are solid and there are one or two less ideal components, I may still choose to try it. Balance matters. However, when a product relies primarily on fillers and artificial enhancements instead of real ingredients, it does not align with my standards.

Interestingly, this habit has started to influence the people around me. After hearing me talk about ingredients for months, some of my friends now read labels automatically.
One of them once laughed and said: “Agnes, you have ruined grocery shopping for me. Now I actually read what is inside the product.”
I take that as a compliment :D.

What are my taste preferences and no-go products?

Over time, I have come to understand my preferences very clearly. I am drawn to balance and natural flavor. I enjoy sweetness, but only when it feels refined and not overpowering. I prefer lighter, cleaner tastes that allow the real ingredients to stand out.

Spicy food is something my body does not tolerate well, so I tend to avoid it. This is not about trends or discipline. It is simply about listening to what feels good physically. When I choose food, I want it to nourish and energize me, not overwhelm my system.

I am generally more attracted to products with simple compositions and recognizable ingredients. The same principle applies to non-edible items. I prefer subtle scents over heavy synthetic perfumes and textures that feel pleasant and well-made.

Whenever possible, I also try to support small producers and handmade products. There is something special about items created with care and intention. Supporting smaller businesses feels more meaningful than choosing mass-produced alternatives when a thoughtful option is available.

As for no-go products, I usually avoid anything that feels excessively processed, artificially intense, or built primarily on fillers instead of real value.
In the end, my choices are guided by one principle- what I bring into my life should feel good in my body and align with my standards.

Summit

To sum it up, this Product Spotlight series is more than a collection of random finds.
It reflects how I choose to move through everyday life. With curiosity. With discernment. With standards.

Every product that appears here has passed through my personal filter. If I share it, it means it has earned my attention and, in some way, added value to my experience.

My goal is not to tell you what to buy. It is to invite you to become more aware of what you bring into your own life.

Because in the end, the small choices we make every day quietly shape the quality of our lives.

With love,
Krapsakas Agnes
